My house is old. Not quaint 16th century English cottage “old”, but modern Australian “old”. Its walls sport deep cracks as the foundations have shifted over many decades of drought and heavy rains, the old floorboards are uneven with knots and holes, exposing the ground below, and the heavy porcelain sinks are pitted and stained.
